The first time I can remember seeing a softback trade paperback is in the late 80's. It was SHARPE'S EAGLE by Bernard Cornwell (I bought it) It was in a used bookstore and stamped "not for sale - review copy". Until I saw that book everything was either the pocket-sized paperback or in hardback. My question is: when is the first time you saw a 6 x 9 soft cover trade paperback? http://www.pacwriter.netfirms.com/ |

In the 60s when I was in college. I still have my copies of Saul Bellow's HENDERSON THE RAIN KING, Hesse's NARCUSSUS AND GOLDMUND, All of Hemingway's most familiar novels, and man, many others. These were all trade paperback. It's been around a long time. |

I had a trade paperback copy of The Prophet by Gibran and Death Be Not Proud in the 60's. Also, If I am not mistaken I had a trade paperback version of Bridge at Andau in the 60's. |
