All,
Please note that today I am working on some website changes. I have found a new hosting service, and will be transferring the site today.
While I do not expect this to cause problems (fingers crossed), there is a possibility of hiccups.
Do not be alarmed if the forum locks today. I may lock it to keep from losing any posts. There is likely to be a delay between the time the files are moved and the site is activated, and that would mean a loss of new posts.
I have tried not to make this move over the years, due to the potential for problems, but the benefits and cost far outweight the small possibility of problems.
Please be patient with me as we make this transition - hopefully it will be 'seamless' as promised - but then again, I am a realist

I had to glue my patootie on this morning with stupor glue, hope it stays on at least for the day.
Well, one of the reasons for the change was that the new server offers 10 times the space and 4 times the bandwidth, more tools, and more options and more capability - for $10 less per month.
I don't want to go too much into the new capabilities, cuz who knows when I'll get a chance to implement some of them, but I do want to do more with the site, and I'd simply been bumping up against the roof of my other server.
I would have had this sucker up and running yesterday by 1pm my time, except my modem was going out on my, and I didn't figure that out until 7pm.
Anyway, round two will start today or tomorrow - depending on when the DNS change goes through, but the board is safe and running, so those should be minor changes (I do expect a few more, but hopefully invisible to you all).

Well, I just learned that one of the changes to the site will be that it will be available as both www.mindsightseries.com and as http://mindsightseries.com
Might seem insignificant, but if had changed from www.mindsightseries.com to http://mindsightseries.com, that would have been a problem.

I was REALLY hoping that it would be all seamless to you guys, but unfortunately the 16 hour downtime didn't help me there hehehe.
I look forward to using some of the new tools available to me now to improve upon our little community here as well  - stay tuned for those.

And yet, somehow we survived. It wasn't easy. We were forced to get work done and pay attention to business matters. What a rush.

Yeah, I was kind of impressed with how smoothly it went (after the debacle with my modem was identified that is )
Joyce led me to one fix that had to be made today, which caused all sorts of frustration, but just because I couldn't fully remember how I did it the first time  .
Seems to be workin alright though.
