I recently announced a writing contest sponsored by the Brainerd Writers Alliance and would like to remind anyone who is interested that the submission deadline is Sept 1.
Also, I'd like to quickly let everyone know about our panel of judges. For a first-year event, we're pleased with the quality of the panel. Wendy Rosnau will judge Short Fiction. Ms. Rosnau has published eight novels and is currently under contract for five more with Silhouette Books. Susan Stevens Chambers, nationally recognized poet who was instrumental in forming the League of Minnesota Poets will judge Poetry. Short Nonfiction (essay) will be judged by DeLynn Howard, staff writer and Celebrations editor for the Brainerd Daily Dispatch, an award-winning central Minnesota daily publication.

Good luck with you contest, but entry fee $10, first prize $50 is a bit rich for my blood. I feel it is a good idea toput entry fees in the initial notice. |
