I was wondering if any of you had done a press release on PR web basically stating what your book was and that it was complete and now you are looking for a publisher. My book is complete and I am now actively seeking a publisher and thought maybe this might catch a publishers attention in additon to submitting querys. Anybody anybody?????? Thanks so much. I do appreciate any and all feedback. I heard there may be another post on this subject but to tell you the truth trying to sort through all the posts on the boards makes me feel as though me eyes will pop out.

Mostly it'll get ya buried under invites from PODs and scammers. The kind of publisher you would want wouldn't be impressed unless your book is tied into something you could do a really newsworthy press release about...like you're the love child of Elvis or you were married to a serial killer or something of the sort.

Thanks Jan. Wow the love child of Elvis what a kick that would be. I guess I will just wait and see what type of responses I get from legit publishers that I submit to.

Plus, Anne, you'll need that avenue of release when your book hits the shelves. It's another great way to promote. If you do it before publication, people might just see it and say, "Oh, I've seen that before." Click! And they're off your site. My two cents: Post publication is better.
