I put up another website apart from Author's den because I wanted a place where others can post their own websites. Please go here: http://www.webspawner.com/users/jlrutter/index.html and then click "links" and add yourself to my website. Oh, and feel free to add me to yours. Hint hint.

Hint, hint...

Why, what to my wondering eyes shall appear,
But the name of my website on the site of a friend so dear
While getting into the Christmas spirit early this year
This may be contagious, I fear
As Joy says, while giving me a leer
"Stop this story" for all to hear

"Stop this story" for all to hear
Oh Fred although you are a dear,
You are right, I fear
and I wait for my friend so dear
To add his link and perhaps...
join me for a beer?

Be kind, I beg, don't flame, slam or curse,
For alas my friends, I do not write verse.

...And yet there's rhythm in every line,
And your words, my gawd, they are so fine.
So do not blink, but add your link.
Make common your name, like the kitchen sink.

My site is outdated,
Just my PA book there,
My webmaster's busy,
with no time to spare.

I can't link your site to mine,
in the forseeable future,
but if I can link to yours,
I'll crow like a rooster.
(I know, but I couldn't find anything else to ryhme.)

Truly aghast I am, I say,
I dared leave the computer alone today,
Then I come back, and open this site,
Oh the lunacy that authors have begun to write

I sigh, and I sniff, and I shed a small tear,
When I open my website and find little cheer,
Because nothing would please me more, I think,
To find that my friends have all left a link.

Worry not, Laurel, dear friend
All is not lost, this is not the end
If your AuthorsDen Link has its days counted
To a new website, your fans must be routed

There are other sites to post on, you see
For example, http://www.bravenet.com/ offers websites for free
When you have one established, for us to enjoy
Take some time out, and have a beer with Joy

I will be there at the bar waiting for you
To have a beer, or a mixed drink or two
I will be anxious to hear all you have to say
Money is no object, Joy said she would pay

http://mockingbird.creighton.edu/ncw/ljohnson.htm.

They call themselves mockingbird,
there at Creighton U.
I can't explain why,
no, I haven't a clue.

It's a Center for Writers,
that much I know.
To learn more about me,
it's there you must go.

They don't accept everyone,
but did accept me.
My pages are nice
so take a look see.

I'd love to be linked
to Joy Lee's fine site.
And thanks for your words, Babb,
they were quite a delight.

"Money is no object, Joy said she would pay"
"HA!" says Joy as she glares Frederick's way,
Laughing hysterically as she looks at the tab,
Hands it back to the waitress, and points to Mr. Babb.

I've been perplexed after visting Laurel's site
how this lady ever has a moment to write.
The list of her achievements is most inspiring,
but reading about them, I can't help inquiring --
What hour of the night does she use for retiring?

Laurel is crazy, compulsive and driven.
That she has several screws loose is surely a given.
With nose to the grindstone and shoulder the wheel,
she just keeps on plugging with gusto and zeal.
She rests on the laurels of past publications
while dreaming of plots and relaxing vacations.

"That Joy is a joker," I explain to the waitress
"I know not why she causes such stress"
"As for the tab, have no fright
I will merely link it to her website"

As for Laurel, I agree with Mary Erickson
She is a very dedicated and giving person
Her many, many achievments leave us all amazed and make us think
"Why would Joy want to stiff her for a drink?"

I cannot leave this board for nary a day,
No matter how long I stay away,
That Fred, we know that he's a tad funny,
For he has posted that I've cooked a bunny.

I arrive and find much to my dismay,
That again Fred has had so much to say,
For now that the beer tab has come due,
I would stiff my friends? This is just not true.

If we search further in the posts of Fred,
We may find more anti-Joy posts, I dread.
Yet my only intention to this post, I think,
Was to invite my dear friends to add their link.

When I read the last post, I thought "Oh, Boy!"
Another message from my dear friend Joy.
"How can she think that?" I asked in dismay
My biggest thrill in life is, with her, having time to play

I don't stiff my friends with such a large tab
As sure as my name is Frederick A. Babb
And the truth be known on this day so sunny
I don't particularly care for cooked bunny

But, one thing that I really enjoy
Is getting to joke around with dear Joy
Her invitation to link was clear to most
But we ended up having so much fun with this post

So, if you have a moment to spare
And if you truly care
Link yourself today with dear Joy
Note: This is not a "sucking up to her" ploy

I don't think I've ever had this much fun,
Opening this thread to see what you've all done.
I never thought I would write poetry,
Because it's not something I've gained mastery.

Alas, almost missed were these jewels of rhyme
Now that I've found them, I think I'll add mine
Gone is the site of the Southern Belle Authors
But fear not, wordsmith peers, we've soon more to offer

New websites are coming as soon as Lee Ann
Finds a spare moment in Blonde Munchkin Land
Excerpts and snippets and pictures galore
Foot shots for Mark, plus lots and lots more

And to think this treasure trove of metered promotion
Could have been missed o'er a false notion
So, from this thread Toyce did learn a lesson
Go by the title and with danger you're messin'

Yeah, we cheer this day of Thanksgiving
To know that soon, websites from Joyce and Lee Ann we'll be reliving
Better than before, Joyce tells us in her promise
To remove the disbelief of the worst Doubting Thomas

I am sure that one item the website will include
Because Joyce and Lee Ann dare not be rude
A link to dear Joy's website is what will be needed the most
Remember, it was dear Joy that started this post

So, Joyce, please keep us informed on the launch date
You can trust in us, as if we were your mate
To view your new website means more than you think
Especially if, to Joy's website, it has a link
