Hmmmm. I've known J. Knight for years. His book was also titled "Risen." A little different cover, though. Your's looks good, Fred!

Great cover, Bill! You know I'm here to congratulate a fellow Texan. Reading your bio brought back memories of the great family trips I took to San Antonio about four years ago. We went down the riverwalk on the boat ride. It was the hottest day of my life. Of course we visited the Alamo then we went to Austin after that it was back to my hometown, Houston ( the most humid place in the world ) I might add. I think Texas is one of the few places that even if you're from here, you still find yourself shocked by the beautiful sites in other cities. Good luck with your book.

Love the cover and also the cool photo of the author.

Don't construe this as any kind of a HINT, but hope the Behler PR person keeps someone we know in mind for a review.

"Don't construe this as any kind of a HINT"

Nope Laurel, I don't see anything that even remotely hinges on the farthest reaches of a hint, or even a HINT of a hint. As a matter of fact, if a certain PR person were to read this, she would, without a doubt make an odd snarling growl and say "Dang it all, and I so wanted to ask Laurel to review the book".

Well, it seems I'm a little behind, as usual. Bill is pedaling his new book and I just wrote a review for his old one. But anyone who hasn't read Den of Deception should go to Amazon and buy one. Here's my review.

In Alice’s Wonderland nothing is as it seems. The same could be said for Richard Alan Nelson’s second novel, Den of Deception. Dr. Brianne Richard’s mother was brutally murdered when she was eleven years old. Brianne saw their gardener standing over her mother’s body with a bloody hammer in his hand. She was eleven years old at the time.

Twenty years later, the murder still unsolved, she sees the man again during a chance encounter. Unfortunately, he disappears before she can have him apprehended. But seeing him has given her new hope that her mother’s death will be avenged. She hires Jon Roman, the dashing owner of a highly successful information-gathering firm, to try to find the murderer. Not only does Jon accept the challenge, but he finds himself attracted to the lovely Brianne. And the feeling seems to be mutual. Together, the two begin a search that leads them into a web of danger and intrigue neither can understand.

Brianne is the heir to a large family fortune. Her father, who had been in the war and had some high-level connections from his military days, started a bank upon his return. But, eventually, he died of a massive coronary. Slowly, the pieces of the puzzle to Brianne’s mother’s murder begin to fall into place. But the closer she and Jon come to the solution, the more apparent it becomes that some person or entity is determined to stop them.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this novel. The author’s style of writing and ability to keep the story moving make for a novel that is difficult to put down.
