My new website is up and running. I think you’ll agree that Lee Ann Ward, webmaster, did a fantastic job. Anyone who would like to link to my site, please Email Lee Ann or me. This can be done from the site. In celebration of the release of my new book and website, I’m holding a contest. To enter go to the site at www.merickson.org. Select the red "Read the Teaser" bar on the right. You’ll find a partial chapter of the book there. After reading the excerpt, Email me the answers to the following questions. (You can Email directly from the site.) Anyone who answers all three correctly will be entered in a drawing for a free pastel painting, shipped free of charge. The painting, titled “Spring has Sprung” can be found on Page 5 of my art pages. The deadline for entry is February 15, 2005. 1. What do white-collar criminals sometimes wear, other than white collars? 2. What was the type of tire Lou Brown was selling that was illegal? 3. What was the undercover name used by the investigator in the “Teaser?” www.behlerpublications.com |

Thanks, Joyce. By the way, although I've had a lot of visitors to the site, I'm still not getting that many contest entries. The prize painting was in a gallery awhile back priced at $1195. Now, obviously, I didn't sell it for that but still, it is a nice painting. "I was the Giant Great and Still," is a painting of a granddaughter. Mary www.behlerpublications.com |

I've been to the paintings 3 times already, Mary. They are beautiful. I can't even do a decent stick figure, so I'm envious. Joy http://behlerpublications.com/titles-rutter.asp |

Mary, Great web site. I have updated the link to it from my page. I know you asked me to do it earlier, but the holidays and everything. (Besides, Joy wouldn't let me do it until now...) Frederick A. Babb Preview books: http://www.frederickbabb.bravehost.com |

Thanks, Frederick. I'm glad you waited because that was my other site, which I'm not using anymore. As for Joy, just ignore her. She's not that big from what I hear so probably isn't much of a threat. Do you want a link to my site? Mary www.behlerpublications.com |

Your pastels are WONDERFUL!! Your website is TERRIFIC. My congratulations to you and your webmaster. You are one gifted lady, Mary. I did not enter your contest. That will give Dennis an extra chance. But OH, I want a LOT of them. They are gorgeous pastels. I took an art class once. the assignment was to draw grapes. I was really into the assignment when I heard the art instructors voice behind me saying, "you call those horrible things GRAPES??" That ended my career. My hat is off to you. Dennis, you bring to mind an old joke. A man prayed and prayed that he'd win the lottery. Time after time he lost. One day he could stand it no longer. "I've prayed and prayed to win the lottery, and, yet, time after time I lose. There is no God." Suddenly, he heard a great clap of thunder, followed by a load voice, which said. "My Son, first you have to buy a lottery ticket." Dennis, first you have to enter the contest! Thanks, Laurel, for your kind words. Too bad that instructor discouraged you so early. There are a lot of works where it's difficult to tell what anything in the painting is, and they sell for big bucks. So you might have done well. It should be easy for you to come up with those "very difficult" answers to the quiz, since you reviewed the book. Give it a try! Mary www.merickson.org www.behlerpublications.com |

In case anyone still wants to get in on the contest for an original painting, please see the first message on thread. The contest is up on February 15 and you still have a good chance of winning. Mary www.merickson.org www.behlerpublications.com |
