Wow. http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/books/02/21/thompson.obit/index.html I guess I can't imagine any other way for him to go, though. Still sad. "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." --H.S. Thompson S.F. Falkner www.scottfalkner.com |

Oddly enough, I have one of Thompson's quotes gracing the flyleaf of my next Joe Box book ( a first for the CBA, I'll betcha ). The quote is as follows: "The music business is a cruel and shallow money trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs. There's also a negative side..." Ya gotta love it. John |

A real shame. Not uncommon way for writers to go, however. Perhaps he had enough and was weary of the fight. It happens. www.stevenshrewsbury.com GODFORSAKEN Behler Publications |

The 'weird turn pro' quote is my most favorite from him. I really liked his style of writing. I've been reading him since college. Bummer... Sheila |

I saw on a blog for Poppy Z Brite that she visited HST last month and he was mentally sharp, but could not get up by himself. Theory is he was suffering from something terminal. www.stevenshrewsbury.com GODFORSAKEN Behler Publications |
