Sorry, meant to post this last night, but forgot (see what happens when I am good and don't change topics mid-thread, I forget to post a new topic. Sheesh!)

Anyway here's the break-down of my press release blitz:

Of 600-700 total bookstores in the list, 444 had fax numbers. Of those, 363 were good fax numbers, meaning the faxes went through.

Took me one week and one day to get them all entered into my friend's computer, about 16 hours total to get the system set-up. Took another 16 hours to fax them all, but the computer did that.

Here's the results, within two hours of sending the fax, I received one e-mail requesting a review copy. The next day I received another e-mail request for a review copy. I then called Ingrams within the past two days, the days which the faxes went out, my sales at Ingrams have tripled. Not too bad. The numbers still are not very high, but they are increasing quite signficantly.

So, next week I will send them all another fax with the Midwest Book Review, review. The week after they will get another fax with the award nomination, and so on, as more reviews and stuff come in. And someplace in-between, I will hit the eastern half of the U.S. So far, I have only blitzed the western half, starting in Kansas.

All in all, it seems to be worth the money. The fax calls cost me about 15 cents each, I figure that the first blitz cost me somewhere in the area of $60, much cheaper than sending out press kits. So...I will continue on.

smiles and blessings, Kitty

I am impressed with your ingenuity. I never would have thought of that, and even if I had, I would have botched it beyond hope. (Fax machines don't like me for some reason.) Reading the marketing techniques of you folks here makes me ashamed of my ignorance.

Even better news - and thanks all for your support.

Today a book store manager in Lenexa, Kansas called. She manages a Family Chrisitian Store, which is a major chain in the mid-west. She told me she had recieved my fax, and wanted to request a "review copy." Of course I agreed. We then got to talking and she gave me the info of where to send a review copy and press kit to in order to try and convince the Family Christian Stores buying department to order my books for all their stores.

So, it goes out in the morning, and I am more than a little excited. This chain has hundreds of stores through-out the mid-West. I am putting this in the Lord's hands but I sure do covet your prayers on this cause this could be a major break for me.

smiles and blessings, Kitty
