Yesterday the Bay City Times, a mid Michigan newspaper with about 30,000 circulation did a feature article on me complete with mugshot, website link, and mini-review of "Turn Left at September." It's a good size article consuming about one third of the page starting at the very top. There's another article about another author named Ernest Hemingway on the same page but it's much smaller and it shares the lower half of the page with an ad for a women's expo. The newspaper hit the stands at about 1:00PM yesterday and last night I got a couple of email letters from locals asking if I'd be willing to autograph copies. There was even one query asking if I'd be available for a presentation to the Bay City YWCA. I'm a small fish and I know that but this is a very small pond. You gotta make the most of every opportunity. Dennis Collins Moderator www.theunrealmccoy.com |

I got this email this morning from the news editor of the Bay City Times. Seems that there is even a possibility of wider exposure. (The "Denise" referred to in the letter is my daughter who owns a beauty shop and day spa near the editor's home.) Check it out... Dennis: Just wanted to let you know that I made my column on you and your book available to the other seven Booth Newspapers in Michigan (Saginaw, Flint, Grand Rapids, Ann Arbor, Muskegon, Kalamazoo and Jackson). I also sent it to the Detroit bureau of the Associated Press so that it could be considered for the state AP feature wire, which, if it's accepted, means it would go out to every daily newspaper in both peninsulas. I also snagged an extra copy of Thursday's paper to give to Denise. If you would like a couple of extra copies, let me know. I thought you would appreciate being on the same page as a little feature/news story about Hemingway. Talk to you later. Dave Dennis Collins Moderator www.theunrealmccoy.com |

Great, Dennis. But I don't think Behler is going to give up on you unless there is something wrong with them. Mike |
