THE E-MAIL MAKING THE ROUNDS IS WRONG - The speech is Roosevelt's and the monument is correct. The author's of the e-mail are combining two separate sentences to create a falsehood. The quotation on the monument doesn't end in the phrase 'so help us God". It appears in an earlier sentence.

In recent weeks I (and several of my friends) have fallen prey to forwarding e-mails that were mis-leading. I think it would be wise for ALL of us to check the facts before forwarding e-mails.
