I've got it, folks!

The headline for Billy Graham's column in my local paper today is "Angles are a Sign of God's Love." Forget The Da Vinci Code, the real story is THE PYTHAGORAS CODE! I'll write about how ancient mathematicians banded together in Mu Alpha Theta clubs to protect the secret that Jesus was the Original Nerd and that Heaven is ruled by the souls of Christian engineers and geometry teachers! I'll stun the world when I reveal that the descendants of the apostles can be identified by a telltale mark on the bridge of their noses--cleverly hidden by the tape on their glasses--and a secret symbol on their pocket protectors! And I can probably get Bill Gates to fund the project if I promise him he can play the lead in the movie! (Sorry, Todd. But I'm sure there'll be a role for you somewhere!)

I might not be able to post here much anymore since I'll be so busy writing, and then of course I'll be much too rich and famous to associate with any of you anymore, but watch for me on Oprah and I'll wave at all of you!

Joyce, honey,
I think you had better go lie down for a while, take an ibuprofen, don't drink anymore coffee. You'll be better after a nap.
Jeeze!

MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

my WIP is titled Job's Cousin - sorry no hidden codes just that life is tough if you are alive and Christians don't fare any better.

But Joyce, don't listen to Bill. I think you are onto something. Todd can write the scrrenplay while you are out spending the money. Let Bill drool :-)

I have been working on the book "Why Peter was robbed and what did Paul really get out of it?" My research shows that Peter had the copyright for the orginal Bible and the "real" truth behind Jesus. Paul, wanting to be the first to market the movie rights, set up Peter for a robbery, only to discover that Peter had already sold the copyright to King James. King James, realizing that the real story lacked a certain degree of interest for the readers, dashed in some fiction and took out some facts to keep the editors happy.

I'll try out for Moses. In my salad days I did a one-on-one interview with Charleton Heston, which qualifies me for the role. (I can name-drop with the best of them.)

Hee-hee - ain't it fun

When I was just a lad of 12, not too smart and not to tall, my family re-located to North Hollywood. Seems my step-father got run out of Dyer county, TN for bootlegging and running a gamblin joint. So one day I'm riding my skateboard down the walk of stars, beside me tops a car. A little short fat guy gets out and goes into a building. I recognize him, follow, he gets into an elevator - me to. "Hi kid" Mickey says to me. My first encounter with a "name".

Don't ask about the people I met in Chicago. A whole other world.
Well, I did sit around a basement and listen to the Buckinghams practice. (Ya gotta be old to know who they were).

Anybody ever hang around "Old Town" in Chicago in the sixties?

before the hippies messed it up and turned it into a druggie paradise
some of my favorite memories: Oak Street beach, The Chicago theater, Brookfield zoo, the river at night, the bowling alley over in Cicero, sneaking into the Drive movie (also in Cicero), watching a cop smell then touch his tongue to a spoon found in the glove-box of the convertible my friend's little sister used to dig in the dirt; all night black and white movies; Howdy Doody; Bozo the clown; box of tide in buckingham fountain, Ron Santo Pizza (baseball player); Real Italian Beff sandwiches; Hot dogs with tomato wedges and fries on top

not so favorite: snow up to my waist, sunburned armpits, national guard on the corners (democratic national convention), RIOTS, singing "We shall Overcome" in the school auditorium locked arm in arm with two huge black football players (the school was 99% black) Martin Luther was shot that day

worst: arrested for a stolen car after my friend who was giving me a lift tried to outrun the cops.

My first completed novel was about a kid living in Chicago during the sixties. write what you know :-)
