A simple tip...

CATCH UP TIME!!! LOL!

I haven't written to the Armed Services contacts Dennis posted - and I've only created one Amazon list.

(How 'bout you????)

So - this gives everyone a chance to catch up before we move on!

No I haven't written to the Armed Services either. I keep thinking that no one in the military would want to read my book. (I have found a niche though. Several people in psychiatric counseling for depression and various pschoses have spread the word that it was cheaper than counseling and gave them something positive to think about.)
I created one list and add to it every so often. And counted myself lucky to finish one without having a total breakdown. :)
And I haven't joined the writer's group I chose because I can't remember which one it was. sigh.
Perhaps I'm doomed to failure. :)

Nancy,

Thanks for putting your review under my book on amazon. Now, not only can people read the review, they'll have some clue what the book is about:)

Laurel,

Just posted the review. Sorry, I write so many reviews, that I usually don't post them to Amazon unless asked to.

Write the military! Don't you think there are men and women who are away from their families - and need to learn how to Grass Dance!!!!!!

I will write my letters this week - and write at least two more lists.

(Then it will be Dennis' turn to post a tip! Got out of that, huh? LOL!)

Laurel - what is this Heartland Writers Group and do they charge dues or a fee to join up?

I am supposed to mail out three more books today, and I don't have the money for envelops or postage, and my printer is out of ink AGAIN! ARGH!!

One is to a mystery site reviewer, too cool or what - crossing the genre barrier at last, but somehow I gotta figure out how to get $1.33 to mail it out and another .50 for an envelop. I can e-mail the cover letter to hubby's computer and he will print it for me, so that's one obstacle down.

Nancy Marie,

It's the day before payday here, so that means we're counting pennies, literally, to pay for anything today. Here's a tip:

Look down inside your sofa. It amazes me how much lunch money I can scrounge up for the kids that way. Of course, half the time, I could probably scrounge up lunch for them that way, if they would only eat rather dusty chips and candy. (I have NEVER claimed to be a good housekeeper. ;) )

Gloria - your house sounds like mine, and your kids sound like mine also. I regret filling their Easter baskets with chocolate this year. Everytime I turn around they've got a mouth full of it.

Fortunately, my kids get are on the free-lunch program at schools, and the teen isn't so old yet, that she is embarrassed to use it. That day is coming, though, and then....

Oh well, we'll get through. I already turned all the couches up-side down looking for spare change....So, I will pray, it always works.

Kitty,

At this point, I would be thankful that you qualify. My husband and I are just a few dollars (quite literally, like $10) over the limit in our area (even for reduced). My lunch check last week to the school covered 3 weeks (I fell behind one because of spring break)...$102.00 I could buy lunch meat and stuff cheaper, I know, but my kids are all big eaters. We did the brown bag thing for a year and about killed ourselves with the grocery bill.

I have not yet completed any of the promotional tips because I just don't have the energy right now. Between the house falling apart (roof, windows, garage, furnace, water heater, etc.), signing my life away for a new-to-me van, and the medical bills from hubby's kidney stones (and no insurance), I'm just plain too worn out to worry about too much marketing right now.

But, I know that the info will be here when I need it. (Not if...when)

LA, yes I am grateful, and I have been and am exactly where you are with the house and car thing. ARGH!! sometimes it all seems like too much to bear, but we always get through it alive, and you will too.

Somehow I missed your question, Kitty. The heartland writers group is located in Missouri but people from anywhere can join. Any genre is accepted, and any writer. Their dues are 24 bux a year. I justjoined and got my info recently so cant tell you how much good they do their members. They are having a big gathering in MO this weekend I think. Several agents and publishers will be there and there was a deadline but writers could take manuscripts and have them critiqued by agents and etc over the 3 day weekend.
