I have been lurking around these halls fora bit, but never could figure out the proper place to introduce myself.

Hi, I'm Allen, and I am a writing forum addict.

I'm going along. I have a book coming out from Author Ink Books this fall. I have a few mag articles that will be out in the fall of this year and the winter of next.

Other than that, I have been just laying around on the futon and watching the cars rust.

Thanks for the welcome.

Hi Allen. Glad to meet ya. I'm also a Yankee married to a southern man. He learned to love Yankee pot roast and I learned to make down home biscuits and corn bread that rivaled his mother's. Now THAT is success!!

Thanks for the corection FAB. I will have to have a lonmg talk with my editor about typos. I might even fire him. (It's always the editor's fault.)

Thanks everyone for these warm welcomes.

Laurel, Carey has not learned to eat most southern dishes. I have learned to eat pot roast, so long as you take out the carrots, potatoes, and other stuff that gets in the way of the roast. And you put it on a grill and turn it slow for several hours. Oh, and change from a roast to a pork shoulder, add some good old sauce, and pour a beer over it every so often. Then chop it up and put it on a bun with coldslaw and serve it with sweet tea. Then it is fine.

Well, well, well. Look whose risen from the shadows. (Quick! Run for the hills! LOL)

I don't pop over here much, Allen, so you're safe. (muah-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!) Otherwise, I'd have to warn you, I DID find my bow, and I'm a pretty darned good shot.

Hey Allen -

I recently did a short piece (it's on my web-site) recommending doing laundry nude, so you can wash ALL of your clothes. But I guess if you don't wear clothes it's not that important.
