I am here to communicate and discuss, but pissed many people off again.
Now I don't really mind pissing a few people off every now and then, but it certainly isn't my goal.

I'm not staying when the majority does not want me here, so I would like to hear your votes.

Should I stay or should I go?

Harry, I'm sure it doesn't really matter what I think, but I would miss you if you go.

But then, I like arrogant assholes. I married one, and it's also why I watch HOUSE.

Harry,
As far as I am concerned, YOU ARE NOT ABOUT TO BE BANNED by anyone here. While I get really upset at your stances a lot of the time and your unwillingness to even give an inch in the discussions that concern our Government and the way the rest of the world feels about us and why and that you won't even take into consideration any of the ways we feel about our Country and Government, I still like you as a person and feel that I know much about you, enough to know that in most cases you are a really decent person, so you are worth the efforts that it may take me to get through some of your posts.

That is not to say I understand your apparent Anti stances you take all the time, for I don't, but I like and respect you and your ideas enough to want you to stay, however, I would like you to tone down your perceptions about us and this country, because I really feel that you don't know have the slightest idea of the truth you may be basing your thoughts on, other than the media that you so devour every day, about all the negatives that this unified group of some 300,000,000 people share. We are not a small country and many of us differ on our perspectives, in fact, we greatly differ much of the time, but that doesn't mean we are all wrong on all counts in the scheme of things. We have a great deal to offer also, in our political insights as well as our thinking on many different subjects, but you chose to only want to talk about the negatives as you see them and not even open your mind to what drives us and our positives.

That said, you are not getting banned, that I know of. And again, I like you, as a person......

I would not be in favor of banning anyone for having an opinion. The fact that
it is not popular with a person or group, is not a reason to be censored!

I skip over most of the world view and political discussions so I'm not sure why it is that people get so mad at you, Harry. Nothing any of us says or thinks will change the decisions of politicians around the world. Unless citizens support politicians with tons of money, they ignore us all.

I like you. Why you even want to come here is a mystery to me, but stay if you want to.

There have undoubtedly been some comments made on other threads that express extreme displeasure with your posts, Harry. But as far as I can see you have not violated any of the guidelines set up at this site.

I personally feel that you are horribly misinformed and way too willing to believe any negative reports about the United States and its government and honestly, you can't possibly know how things work without actually living here. The United States has its own watchdogs who are far more viscious than you and with far more access to inside information. If there were any way that they could sink the present administration they would be at it nonstop from every rooftop in the country. The evidence that you seem to have at your fingertips simply doesn't hold up. Ask Michael Moore.

But I know the futility of trying to convince you of just how terribly off base you really are so I have decided to abstain from any more comments on your posts.

Well, good morning everyone. I am not here to engage in the discussion over whether Harry is to be banned - though the answer from me to that question is no, he is not.

I'm not here to hand out pardons to anyone either. I'm here this morning because I received an e-mail that some more stupid BS was taking place on my forum that has nothing at all to do with writing.

As a writer, I once found this forum useful to visit every day, several times a day, to join in discussions about writing with other writers who were passionate about that topic.

You all have recently aluded to the decline of users at the Mindsight Forum, but the fact of the matter is, we are still getting the visitors, they just don't feel any need to join in bullshit discussions that have nothing to do with writing - and neither do I.

So, today, I removed the MUSINGS topic from the website in its entirety. Ever since its inception, there have been an inordinate amount of discussions that have sparked passionate responses on all sides, angered a lot of people (myself included), and allowed people to fight about ideas which have no place on a writers forum. Here's the deal... I don't agree with a lot of what was said on the Musings topic by a handful of Mindsight regulars. My views differ from yours. I let it go for a long time because I didn't want to get involved in the 'censorship' debate, but this morning I realized that it's not the people or opinions that don't belong, it was the discussion topic itself.

So... starting today, I am going to be watching the site, and so will the other moderators. Discussions that have nothing to do with writing, publishing, selling, marketing or otherwise are not related to writing, will be monitored, and if need be, removed from the forum.

I respect all of the Mindsight Forum members - whether I agree with you or not, and whether I condone the sort of things you have said or not. I invite you to stay and participate in writing related discussions. If this change to the mindsight forum to put it back on its tracks as a writers' discussion forum upsets you, please feel free to leave.

If any of you have issues with me for making this move, or would like to tell me just what you think, feel absolutely free to e-mail me at admin@mindsightseries.com.

Sincerely,

C. E. Winterland

Well, that should take care of any future discussions I would think.

I'll drop in every now and than.

As a person who lurks often but posts less often, I find the off-topic drifts to be a distraction to the discussions. I know some of you from other boards and places, so I know there is much valuable information stored in your brains. If we choose to direct this knowledge to further the cause, we will shortly see an increase in traffic and a lively banter of ideas. At least some of these might actually help us sell our novels, poems, and other writings.

What a novel concept!
