Did you know that this very night I could have new furniture, $1,000.00 in my bank account, a new credit card, new clothes, some confidence, a Master's degree, better breath, some Soma, a new man or woman whatever is my preference, bigger boobs and a longer, harder penis?

Spam...it's a wonderful thing, isn't it?

Gloria, girl,

You are a riot.

The funniest thing about Soma is...well, has anyone else here read A BRAVE NEW WORLD by Aldous Huxley?

I could use a little of that kind of Soma.

Loved that book. If Soma holidays were real, the world would be alot quieter...

With bigger boobs and a larger penis one would surely need new clothes!

hahaha Gloria. Loved that.

Back in the old days of medicine when I was a pup, Soma and Dexedrine and thorazine were kept in little drawers unlocked. The staff was allowed to take anything they needed - Dexedrine if you were sleepy, Soma if you needed rest. the doctor I worked for made me take soma once when I was going through a particularly rough patch. That was wonderful stuff. ) So was dexedrine) Pharmaceutical designers have never come up with anything like it. Fortunately, my use of it was short lived.

Brave New World was required reading for my very first college level writing course. Looking back, it destroyed the book for me because we disected the damned thing, taking one chapter at a time, analizing it and then putting it behind us and moving on to the next. We never looked at the book as a whole. I don't even remember any of the characters names. (Do remember SOMA though)

Lenina
John (the savage)
Bernard Marx
One had something to do with Stallin

Actually, the moive DEMOLITION MAN was inspired by BRAVE NEW WORLD, hence the character names: Lenina Huxley, John Savage, among others.

It's amazing to me at times that a book written prior to said events has so much in common with the events surrounding Nazi Germany. .... this topic always makes me think way too much.
