Y'know... I miss Fred too.. I believe that Fred is a deep thinker capable of coming to some very logical conclusions. Sometimes his words could be painful but I never had the feeling that they were insincere or self-serving. They always seemed honest and from the heart. If Fred said something that was terribly out of line, I would suppose that his information was flawed. Loved his sense of humor too. I didn't agree with all of Fred's thoughts but that's no big deal. Sometimes he could be emotional but he'd get over that too. I still feel as if he and I could get along just fine. I'd like to see him return one of these days. |

I have to laugh. There is a string called 'Men are from Mars'. And under 'Beer' there is actual talk of the banned. I know the decision that CE made was hard. Harry-in your last paragraph you stated they are just words. BUT unfortnately most people believe in the written word, so once it is out there it must be true. We all have had some discussion with Fred that would leave us to just want to find a PUNCHIN bag and take out the anger. Deep down I believe he is a good person, but I think he has been sitting under the avocado trees in the desert sun, a little too long at times. This forum is good. Like in any relationship disagreements are good for they show you trust the person(s) and helps you to move the relationship on. But we also need to toughen our selves when it comes to our weak spots or sort them out and find out WHY they bother us so much. Or you can say there are times in a relationship where we need to take time out and see if this is what we really want. If we were all the perfect specimen of mankind, I think we would have a very very boring world on our hands. Enough of my babbling. May you all have a peaceful night/day. |

Fred is a fighter and I respect that more than alot of attributes many have. However, I refuse to make him a topic of discussion in his absence.

Speaking of beer... In this part of the country, sometimes we go down south to Canada and enjoy some of their very fine brews. They export quite a few brands as well like Molson's and LaBatts. Do those beers reach you guys in some of those landlocked States? |

Even in the backdeserts of Nevada, we have Molson's and LaBatts stocked in almost all of the bars here. I used to be a bartender (for a very short time)and ordered them all the time from the suppliers. Actually, we have a good supply of Canadian brews and Mexican brews as well as almost any other kinds you can think of, partly because of the tourist industry here and the fact that there are many people that come in here to gamble and only want to drink what they are familiar with. We are on the national listing as places that have the most diversity in types of alcohol that is served. Never tasted any of them, as I am not a person that likes anything fermented, so..... that makes for a good drunk, huh? I will drink a wine cooler, or some mixed drinks, socially, though. I nurse the same drink for about 3 hours or until all the ice is melted and turned into water, to make the drink less potent. Not a very good drinker.... but I know how to make'em and set'em up. But haven't kept up with the newest drinks of late, just tooo old, I guess. Claudia |

Going to be in St Louis soon and probably visit brewery. Nearly as good as going to Jerusalem and less chance of being killed. www.stevenshrewsbury.com |

"In this part of the country, sometimes we go down south to Canada and enjoy some of their very fine brews." Dennis, that must be SOME beer... unless I'm confused about the geography of your area, how would you go south into Canada? (of course, geography was never one of my finer subjects) :-) Steven, as long as you steer clear of East St. Louis, I think you'll be fine... |

I knew I'd catch somebody on that... Take a good look at a Michigan map and you will see that Windsor, Ontario is directly south of Detroit. It's the only place in the United States (including Alaska) where you go south to enter Canada. |

I heard in Windsor there is a strip club where one HAS to wear dress pants. Funny note....same guy who owns strip club owns the DRY CLEANER across the way. Sounds like a scam to me. www.stevenshrewsbury.com |

Steven, that's not a scam. It's creative marketing. Using one's assets to maximum advantage and profit. Besides a guy in dress pants is a little less likely to act like a jackass toward the lovely young ladies who are being so kind as to "perform" for public enjoyment. Or maybe that's just a good line to drum up dry-cleaning business. At least he's thinking outta the box. Later, Olen A |

I think that the dress code was instituted to cull out some of the scooter trash that was drifting over from the Detroit side of the river. But I fools 'em. Just strap on those leather chaps over my double-knits and them leave 'em in the saddlebag whilst I swagger through the door. |

I got banned. Hopefully, the beer won't suffer a similar fate. Have fun, but watch what you say. Wouldn't want to get banned, now would we? Don't speak too loud, the Forum Cops might overhear you. http://www.fdungan.com/freedom.htm |

I see those commercials with August Busch on them talking about his family legacy. He said in an interview that once the lawyers got done with the tobacco companies, they will come after him....so he is doing a premptive strike. Now, if they ever try to ban beer or booze in this country again (unless we need to make more fortunes for bootlegging NE families) I can see a second Civil war. Don't believe me? Tell my football buddies they can no longer have beer and you will see political action like never before. Ah, say what ya want. I see a great deal I don't agree with aroudn here and yet, consider the source. Jeez, ME tolerant????? That is funny. GOnna have to mow the lawn for the first time this year this afternoon. Shaggy and huge. Takes 3 hours. Icing the beer as we speak... www.stevenshrewsbury.com |

Did he say mow the lawn??? Lemme go back and read that again... Yep, as in "cut the grass." Well... Just let me tell you something... I don't know if my grass is ready for mowing or not. Wanna know why??? Because it's under a blanket of fresh snow that fell overnight, that's why... |
