Could it be that one of us posted something that ticked off a powerful corporate personage, prompting this big cheese to have the offending matter destroyed in such a manner as to make it look like it was done by a hacker?

Hehehe. Not very likely. Instead, it was my own stupidity that caused this mayhem. I was not focussing on the task at hand, and clicked a wrong button... tsk tsk tsk.
Thank goodness we didn't loose the whole board. That would have been ugly.
