My almost-21-year-old son TJ (the one on TBF's new cover) is moving back to Mobile! He's been in Jacksonville, FL, for the past seven months and has gained valuable life experience (when he was home for Christmas, he kept telling his sisters to turn off the lights when they left a room!) but although he loves it in Jax, he now has the opportunity to get a job here with CSX Railroad making $24 an hour, and he's too smart to pass up an opportunity like that. Plus, CSX's corporate headquarters is in Jax, so he knows he might be able to transfer there later on.

My daddy retired from the Terminal Railway at the Alabama State Docks, so he's thrilled that one of his grandsons is going to be a railroad man. He'll be loaning TJ his tapes of train whistles and rail sounds! LOL

I am one happy mama right now and just had to share!

Holy crap, girl. Tell TJ a huge congratulations from me (don't forget another thank you for allowing his awesome pic for the book cover), and happy happy that he's coming home!

Since we're on the subject of pictures, here's one of me with The Boy from about a year ago.

No smartalecky comments about my hair being a lot darker then.

There is a certain freshness about you both. You almost sparkle. Ah, those were the days!

Joyce,

I'm so happy for you. I am torn right now between fear that my son will leave and fear that he won't. It depends on which day it is.

Isn't it funny weird when you have to start looking up at them? Four years ago, mine was a nice short round kid and now he's this tall skinny guy who can rest his arm on the top of my head.

I'm really happy for TJ and you. Sounds like it worked out perfectly for both of you.

I can't blame anyone for leaving Jacksonville right now. I've been here my whole life and we have a five year escape plan in the works -- meaning we intend to escape from this madhouse in five years.

That’s great news Toyce/Joyce!

Mine are 5 and 10, so it will take a while before we end up in that phase of life.

Gloria, he's been taller than me since he was 12. In fact, both my girls are taller than me too. At least I'm taller than Lee Ann!

That's great news, Joyce. Danny's still at home, but he's planning to get his own apartment in the Spring. It's been so nice to have him here for a while. I'll miss him when he's gone, but at least he'll be in town.

Doesn't matter how old they are - they're still our babies! LOL!
