What was Gilligan's first name? It was only used once, in the pilot show.

Some say that his first name was Willy, however, Bob Denver stated in a few interviews that he/his character in the show, never had any other name than Gilligan. In the written pilot, the writer referred to him as Willy Gilligan, but that never even made it to the pilot showing. It is only seen in looking at the script.

My brother and I used to have a "who's hotter, MaryAnn or Ginger?" argument. As I recall, we were never able to come to a consensus.

I used to know a person who was very close to Bob Denver.... so that is how I knew that answer. Plus I enjoyed the show a lot when it was on and that coupled with my "connection" made me sort of feel like an insider to some of the stuff that happened on the show.

And in my theory?

Gilligan for president!!!

He's the image of Honesty, Sincerity, and Trust.

Three things the presidency has been lacking for a very long time.

Reminds me of an old joke.

A dentist tells his patient, "I'm sorry, but you have gingivitus."

To which the man replies, "Oh. That explains my urge to slip into a slinky evening gown and chase guys named Gilligan..."

LA I agree
When I say I agree, we must go back to General Ike to find honest, trustworthy and considered the people before the party.
Jimmy Carter was as big a disappointment as any current era politician.

Sheila,

Professor Roy Hinkley, Ph.D........ actually, he was rather cute and very naive to the ways of the world, in a "professorish" dumb way.

There remains the obvious question about the Prof--

Since they seemed to have any tools they needed, and he could make anything out of nothing, (i.e. radio batteries out of coconuts juice),

why couldn't he fix a hole in wooden boat on an island covered with trees?

What does that say about the intellegensia (sp?) in America?
Of course then there wouldn't have been a show, I guess.

Later on,
Olen A
