Because we'd been having issues getting PDF files to show up in Internet Explorer, I decided to try my luck with Firefox.

Have to say it's completely awesome so far...

I've been using it for two years - anyone who still uses explorer just doesn't know how life can improve. I was a netscape user since 96

Thunderbird for mail is just as awesome

firefox and thunderbird are free

http://www.mozilla.org/

it loads pages faster, gives more control over popups and warns you if you are going to pages that have viruses or are scams

I'm deciding whether to try linux operating system and scrap windows.

I've been using Firefox for about two years and love it. My 17-year-old daughter prefers Opera. Only goobers still use IE.

Guess that makes me a goober. I lean on the advice of my son, the computer technician. I asked him about it. He gave me a long lecture about a federal mandate which resulted in catapulting Adobe from a struggling mom-n-pop store to a giant corporation, and how pdf files are just files, and etc., etc. I lost track somewhere. We'll struggle through somehow.

I haven't used IE at home in quite some time. A friend told me about FireFox, and then I started having issues with IE just shutting down with no notice. Not nice. Now with these upgrades and the new look, I HATE, HATE, HATE the new IE.

The only problem I've had with firefox is that it doesn't like some of the graphics. However, I think I'm due for an upgrade, so it may be my fault those images aren't showing.

It does load faster. Especially for those on dial-up. It's definitely an improvement.

At work, I still use IE, though. I'm not allowed to install programs without prior approval. :-(

I downloaded mozilla when someone said it was the answer to my never ending problem of outlook express mail not working. That is, OE somehow got degraded and would not do anything. I was so excited. But the mozilla email would not work either so I uninstalled everything and still have to use webmail. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
