Subject: Communication After having dug to a depth of 1000 meters last year, Scottish scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 1000 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than1000 years ago. Not to be outdone by the Scots, in the weeks that followed, English scientists dug to a depth of 2000 meters and shortly after, headlines in the UK newspapers read: "English archaeologists have found traces of 2000 year copper wire and have concluded that their ancestors already had advanced high-tech communications network a thousand years earlier than the Scots." One week later, Texas newspapers reported the following: "After digging as deep as 5000 meters in West Texas, Texas A&M scientists have found absolutely nothing. They have therefore concluded that 5000 years ago Texas inhabitants were already using wireless technology."

Obviously, Bill made that up (or somebody did). Proof - Texans don't do meters. Particularly Aggies. Feet, yards and miles were good enough for Davey Crockett and they're good enough for us. As for the rest, it's all true. Tom Elkins NORTH of TEXAS www.authorsden.com/tomelkins |

The 'old ones' still might have been more advanced than we like to think. Look at this finding: http://www.giant.net.au/users/rupert/kythera/kythera3.htm "In 1901 divers working off the isle of Antikythera found the remains of a clocklike mechanism 2,000 years old. The mechanism now appears to have been a device for calculating the motions of stars and planets" Quite amazing! Also the batteries of Baghdad are strange: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baghdad_Battery |

If one wants an explanation (here comes the fight) for all of these ancient "mysteries", one can read (study) the writings of H.P. Blavatsky, specifically Isis Unveiled and The Secret Doctrine. |

I have read some of her work, but I don't believe she is right. I don't think it is a mystery, just excellent craftwork of the old ones. |

I heard a theory a while ago about the Ark (not Noah's, the other one as in Raider's of) that said according to the design and modest embelishments that could have been lost to history it could have been a giant capcitor that could electrocute those who didn't know (hence a the ledgend that it could kill by touch). Actually Mythbusters did this one and proved it's design could fold and release a charge. My theory, we use to be smarter and the longer we exist the dumber we getted. Kevin |

My theory - we became smarter and smarter about less and less. Not many Rennaisance (sp?) men left...particularly ones that can spell. Tom Elkins NORTH of TEXAS www.authorsden.com/tomelkins |

"My theory, we use to be smarter and the longer we exist the dumber we getted." And it all began with the 1960s ~ http://www.stephenlodge.com Novels by Stephen Lodge: "Charley Sunday's Texas Outfit!" "Nickel-Plated Dream" "Shadows of Eagles"
