Just stealing a title hee hee
Anyway a 69 yr old lady asked me today "How long does it take to get a marriage license?" She went on to explain she was considering a proposal from her brother-in-law whose wife died ten years ago. She, became a widow just after Christmas after caring for husband for the last ten years with alzhimers. 2+2=5
She went on to the next question, "Will I lose my husband's social security and his retirement?" Yep!
"MMMMM" she says, "I'm not sure I want to do that but I don't want to live alone."
So what is marriage? According to the church, a ceremony with an exchange of vows. She opted to be married in the eyes of the church but not in the eyes of the law.
