When the FBI arrested those six terrorists in New Jersey two weeks ago it turned out that three of them had been in the U.S. illegally for at least TWENTY years.
These three had crossed our unprotected border and had been living in New Jersey.
But here's the even more outrageous part: The police had filed 75 (SEVENTY-FIVE!) charges against them, including drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In all that time, they never discovered they were here illegally?
How can that be? What a broken system.
And now, this crap congress is trying to shove through before Memorial day so they can all go on vacation.
How long are we going to take it?

They lived in a "sanctuary city" - one where police must look in the other direction in cases involving illegal aliens.

That Sanctuary City stuff is a bunch of garbage/crap or whatever you want to call it. San Francisco is a Sanctuary City also, proclaimed by Mayor Gavin Newsom. I wouldn't be surprised if Los Angeles is one also. Gov Arnold should do something about taking care of that problem in Calif. And the Governors of those states that offer that perk should have their heads removed at the shoulders.

Cities in North Carolina are taking full advantage of the Immigration law that allows for training of local law enforcement to process and deport illegals. Two cities are building new jails just to handle the illegals for processing and deportation.

Any city in the United States can apply and have their people trained. Costs are split between the city, state and the federal government. So there are no excuses for the law of enforcement except POLITICS!

My brothers a cop in Bakersfield Ca and he told me he is not allowed to ask if someone is illegal.

I'll give you another day or so to wrap up this post, and then I'm putting it away. The Mead Hall is not for political discussion, and I said I would remove political postings, however harmless they seem at the moment.

And I'd really appreciate if no one argued - I'm not all that thrilled to play baby-sitter, either.

Greetings to you all!

Owning a place in Kentucky and another in New York keeps me busy, but this year I'm making a point to keep writing-related activity at the forefront, or as near as reasonably possible. To that end, I put together 15 stories and sent them out the door, plus have near that many in various stages of development. I've also promised myself to get at least 2 novels off the desk and into the mail before year's end. Actually, I planned to get one out before the end of this month, but will have to extend that a bit since it's time to make hay. As for visits to writer dot coms, I've confined myself to a quick read of topics to see what's of personal interest. Good to see that most here, if not all, are still pounding the keyboard. Good to see, too, that some nice things are happening to some of those on the board: e.g., Lynn Price and her IPPY award.

The bill is almost dead - keep up the fight and maybe this thing will be buried.

the polls show that the majority of "common" people in the USA just want the current laws enforced. That's not asking for much and the cost is a fraction of what it would be if the bill were to pass.

Not looking for a debate, just passing along information. :-)
