Probably wayyyy too dangerous but I thought I'd express my opinion anyway...

Paris Hilton gets a DUI and reckless driving; a misdemeanor and is sentenced to probation. She violates probation and is warned, violates again and is sentenced to 45 days.

In the city where she is convicted, misdemeanor offenders serve an average of 10% of their sentence. Jails are overcrowded and it makes sense to keep the more serious crooks locked up and turn the traffic offenders loose. Paris is released after serving about 7% of her time.

There is public outrage!!! Off with her head!!! Special treatment because she's a celebrity!!! A chance for a judge to put his face in the national news by demanding that she serve the full 45 days although it's been several decades since the last traffic offender served a full sentence. With all of the appeals and everything, the judge will have his mug on CNN for months.

Paris says "OK" and steals every bit of the judge's thunder then rubs it in by calling Barbara Walters from the clink.

Hehehehehe.

Last week in Royal Oak, Michigan a guy was caught driving while intoxicated. He has 18; that's EIGHTEEN convictions for impaired driving and he still has a driver's license and has served no jail time.

No public outrage!!! No claims of special treatment!!! Not even a blip on CNN.

Paris; you go girl!!!

Amazing - Paris is getting more press than the IMMIGRATION BILL today. Why?

In case you haven't heard the sneaks keep the lid on letting folks know that it was coming to a vote today. It passed. Your Social Security has just been stolen.

My understanding is that they only voted to resume debate and not on the actual bill itself.

Essentially what they did was put up a test vote which if it had enough support was to then consider amendments. These will be hammered out and when everyone gets at least something they want then it will be passed. Every senator will be able to say at election time, "I fought the battle and I was able to get changes." It is a way to in military terms CYA.

The vote today was THE VOTE that will matter in the long run. As I said, the rest is CYA. Burr and Graham will be two that will not be getting re-elected. Burr caved in after saying he would not support the bill. South Carolina people are already proposing alternatives to voting for Graham in the election two years from now. They feel totally betrayed.

BUT HAVE YOU NOTICED THE LACK OF COVERAGE -- listen to the talk shows hosts screaming bloody murder over the lack of coverage :-)

Here is the list of GOP senators who voted for cloture today - the ones whose minds have to be changed or the invasion begins
:
► Bob Bennett of Utah
► Kit Bond of Missouri
► Sam Brownback of Kansas
► Richard Burr of North Carolina
► Norm Coleman of Minnesota
► Susan Collins of Maine (No surprise there.)
► Larry Craig of Idaho
► Pete Domenici of New Mexico
► John Ensign of Nevada (That's really curious to me because this is the guy who's in charge of reelecting Republicans to the Senate, and finding new candidates and fund-raising.)
► Lindsey Grahamnesty of South Carolina
► Judd Gregg of New Hampshire
► Chuck Hagel of Nebraska (No surprise there.)
► Jon Kyl of Arizona (No surprise there. He's carrying the bill for the Republicans.)
► Trent Lott of Mississippi (No surprise there.)
► Richard Lugar of Indiana
► Mel Martinez of Florida (No surprise there.)
► John McCain of Arizona (No surprise there.)
► Mitch McConnell of Kentucky (It will be interesting to watch him.)
► Lisa Murkowski from Alaska
► Olympia Snowe from Maine (No surprise there.)
► Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania (No surprise there.)
► Ted Stevens of Alaska (No surprise.)
► George Voinovich of Ohio. (I don't know if he cried before the vote.)
► John Warner, the southern gentleman from Virginia.

You bet I got this list from Rush's web site.

How many of the new "legals" will be applying for social security which they have not paid into? How many will send their kids to schools and have the schools forced into providing special teachers? How many will be applying for welfare and Medicare/medicade? How many of you are going to see your taxes shoot up to cover those expenses?

How many more hospitals will be forced to close because they can't afford the cost of providing free emergency room services for the poor and uninsured? And, how much is a trip to your doctor or hospital going to go up?

I keep hearing people ask, "Why are the politicians pushing this?" Suppose you are owner of a construction company and you are paying $5.65 an hour for an illegal laborer. You are making a nice profit on each project because you don't have to pay $10.00 - $15.00 for a legal laborer. So how do you keep getting this cheap labor (for jobs Americans won't do----- for that pay?" You give a campaign donation to your senator in the amount of $100,000 to pass the Immigration bill. The end result is that you make millions off your labor costs. The good senator who ignores the voters gets a hefty contribution which he/she spends on getting re-elected (oh, he is doing his campaigning from his temporary headquarters in the mountains or at the beach or his townhouse over-looking the 18th paid for from his re-election fund).

Question: Why does a person spend $20 million for a job paying less than 200k a year? Answer: Because like a certain fellow from Ark. who went from a modest income to multi-multi-millions when earning only government wages.

I have been blasting Ensign with faxes and letters and emails and I told him that the people of Nevada will remember what he has done and everything else I can think of. He is a FIRST TERM Senator and he turned coat and voted for a Democratic- Kennedyesque piece of shit. I am boiled at him and I would not support him if he was the only person running for any office and I used to like him..... I voted for him in our State election. I hope that every Nevadan remembers what he turned out to be for us, a piece of crap and the biggest turncoat in this state. I will sure try to remind everyone I know in the future about who Ensign really is.
