I heard Dr. Dean Edell observe today, "A lot of people who get married wind up getting divorced." I can take it one step further. ALL of the people who get divorced are married. I guess if we eliminate marriage, we can eliminate divorce.

Staying married to one woman your entire adult life is a worthy goal. My father managed to do it, despite their having gone through some rough times. In fact, I am convinced that it was the struggle to survive that over time tempered the wedding vows that kept my parents together. As for me, I tried and failed. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Since then, twenty-five years of celibacy has made me lean, mean, and capable of meeting any challenge, including this stupid wheelchair that is doing its best to keep me from accomplishing my goals. Someday I will stand up and walk away from it. It is only a matter of time.

Good on ya, Fred (as the Aussies say). That same Dr. reports that a recent survey sows that women talk more than men (who needs a survey?). No, doc, it just seems that way.

I believe in you, Fred. I haven't seen you back down from anything else, so why would you let a wheelchair get the best of you?

As far as the marriage and divorce stats go, you men just have to pick the right women to marry. My husband got it right on his second try.

I've been fighting with "restless Leg Disease" since I was 15. Usually in the middle of the night or just as I'm about to fall asleep. Almost 20 years now and I still deal with it the same way, get up go get a glass of milk, go back to bed and I'm asleep 20 minutes later.
