In a conversation with my wife this weekend she said something about making sure I budget in to get myself stocking stuffers (I already recieved a new car stereo for Christmas since we are going on a 16 hour drive to her family for the holidays). I started thinking why should I buy myself Christmas presents? Ok, she's moderately busy preparing for the approaching tax season, but is that an excuse to not buy Christmas presents? I had ordered some cds and put a few asside for Christmas but I'm not sure if I want to go out and buy "presents" for me. I do that all year round. This time of year I think it is her turn if she wants to. Since her birthday this summer I've been agonizing over what she would want, asked her and listened when she said there was something she wanted. I guess I kind of wnat her to put some effort into my present.
So anyway to the querstion after that rant. Do you buy yourself presents this time of year? Or are you like my mom who instilled in me, never buy anything for yourself after Holloween because you don't know what you might be getting for Christmas?

My wives are (were) like your mom, exhorting me never to buy anything for myself after Halloween. However, I am encouraged to drop broad hints.

I buy for me as I see what I want. No problem - so the wife and kids go nuts trying to figure out what to get ME for Christmas or birthdays. hee - hee - guy got to have some fun 
My wife is getting an LCD photo frame - I've spent weeks scanning every picture of the kids and our life together. I'm putting them on a 4 gig SD chip. Now she will have a 24/7 slide show of our life together. Can I say BIG BROWNIE POINTS

OH - EVERYTHING IS GOING ON A DVD and into the bank lockbox - one of the worst things that can happen to a family is to lose all the pictures in a house fire - tornado or flood.
I've been thinking of going into a side business of scanning and storing pictures for others. What do you think?

Better save it to harddrives or SD's Perry, DVD's have a tendency to 'rot.' But those LCD frames are nice, think we will get one of those too. |
