In response to the thread publishing Europe/USA where we sort of drifted of to marriage and such:

Yesterday two people in my country were married for 80 years! Both of them are 102. They are still very happy with each-other. The old lady says she is more in love with him now than she was when she was 18. Now I doubt it that they will have a wild sex-life similar to Joyce’s, but a few times a week the nurses put their beds together so they can hold hands. At that age that’s excitement enough I guess.
They are a bit forgetful though, their 75 year old daughter needed to tell them every ten minutes that they were married for 80 years, then they looked at each-other, smiled happily and forgot in a few minutes.

It is still on topic as I’m pretty sure there is a beautiful story in this!

It's been more than 25 years since I have been married and I still cannot forgive or forget. Any parent of either gender who abandons a seven year old child in order to have fun deserves to be stood against a wall and shot.

I agree that it is very sad when a parent thinks some fun is more important than their child.

I had a rather bad relationship too about 25 years ago, probably many people have.
But after a few years that wound healed by all the other experiences in my life that followed. The scar can still be felt but does not hurt anymore for perhaps 23 years. I'm under the impression that your wound never healed?

She rubbed salt in it. May my ex-wife and her pussywhipped new hubby roast in hell.

You expand my vocabulary again Fred, I never heard of the word 'pussywhipped' and had to look it up.

Is it still the same pussywhipped hubby from 25 years ago?

Here's to pussywhipped men married to principled women. Sorry to bust your pessimistic bubble, but it does happen.

Well, laugh if you want, but she was a principled principal.
I thought I knew another one, but she turned out to be like the rest.
They only want me for my body.
I feel so used.

And abused. Hopefully this will change when they put you out to pasture. Enjoy your declining years, for they are golden. And, for old times sake, have a virtual Molson Golden in the Mead Hall with me. Needless to say, I'm buying.
