I haven't been here in awhile. I hope everyone is doing well. A friend of mine sent this to me and I found it pretty funny.

Tracy

THE BOTTLE OF WINE
For all of us who are married, were married, wish you were married,
or wish you weren't married, this is something to smile about the
next time you see a bottle of wine:
Mary was driving home from one of her business trips in Northern
Arizona when she saw an elderly Navajo woman walking on the side of
the road. As the trip was a long and quiet one, she stopped the car
and asked the Navajo woman if she would like a ride.
With a silent nod of thanks, the woman got into the car.
Resuming the journey, Mary tried in vain to make a bit of small talk
with the Navajo woman. The old woman just sat silently, looking
intently at everything she saw, studying every little detail,
until she noticed a brown bag on the seat next to Mary.
'What in bag?' asked the old woman.
Mary looked down at the brown bag and said, 'It's a bottle of wine.
I got it for my husband.'
The Navajo woman was silent for another moment or two.
Then speaking with the quiet wisdom of an elder, she said:
'Good trade.....'

LOL!

Love it. I'll have to tell that one to my husband.

How are you, Tracy? What's going on with you?

Hello Nancy,

well....I'm vertical which is one hell of a lot better than I was 16 months ago! I'm just about done with my summer teaching job and will be starting my usual one when school starts after Labor Day. Just work and home seems to be my pastime.
How are things with you?

Tracy,

I'm sorry, but please explain your lack of verticalness. (Don't think that's a word!!!) I guess I'm behind in info. Were you ill?

Everything's fine here. I did have foot surgery which kept me in a wheelchair for a little over three months, but I'm up and around.

I stumbled into writing cozy mysteries and have been busy at that for quite some time. Just finished one series and have been contracted for a second. So, things are going well there.

Not much else to tell.

Nancy,

I'm glad you're up and around again. I'm also very happy for you and your booming writing career.

I had a hard year. I died twice on the morning of May 3rd of 2007. That kind of put me out of action for awhile. It's not a story that would be appropriate for the board. I would have to go into that in private.

Hi Laurel!

It's been a long time. I hope you're doing well.

It was a frightening experience, but a lesson well learned nonetheless.

How are you?

I'm fine. Ron and I moved to a small acreage in Kansas in January 2007 and are really enjoying the peace and quiet here. I'm on reviewing hiatus right now working on a writing project of my own. The older I get, the less able to multi task. Can't seem to read, review, walk, chew gum, or write at the same time!

I'm happy to see you back on the board.

Don't expect to see any results any time soon. But at least I'm working towards that end. :-)
