What do you use or what do others use to rate a reading level?

I go by the MS Word Flesch-Kincaid scale -- is this adequate?

I use to use MS Word Flesch-Kincaid scale, but have forgotten how to use it. How do I use it?

Don't you laugh, I have a good excuse, I'm old.

when you use the grammer check - at the completion of the check it shows you the scales
(btw) I forgot how to do it until a few days ago - had to reset the options on MS word
