Hello,

I wrote a short story after my grandmother's passing that I believe will be useful for other people who become the caretaker for an ill or elderly person. I submitted it to the "Chicken Soup" people but don't know how likely it is for them to pick it up.

I guess my question is two parts ... should I submit it to others while waiting for word back from "Chicken Soup" ... and any ideas where to submit it at all?

I'd be happy to provide a copy to anyone who wants to read it.

Thanks in advance!

Sorry to hear about your loss...
Unfortunately, I don't have any idea about where to send your short story...
(though I just came up with a potential idea, and will get back to you when I get more info (either this evening, or tomorrow))...

Question, though: Is the story of a religious nature?

Yes,

the story could go either way. I did not write it with a pure religious theme but it could be viewed as either secular or religious depending on who is readin it.

No sweat. I usually know of a ton of markets, even if I am not subbing to them...due to various factors :-)
Ralans is great

Wow. A few months ago I went through about ninety Google pages looking for sites that linked to publishers/ezines/magazines and the like. I don't know how I missed Ralans. Thanks, Steve.

Check thatr Chicken Soup allow simultaneous submissions -- if the do they probably require that you state it. If you don't and they find out you will probably have trouble selling to that market in the future.
