Hello, everyone. I've been busy the last couple of days; June 1st was the big day -- both How God Was Created and Artemis Grant were released to the general public. It makes me feel good to be able to say that, yes, I'm a writer, and yes, you can buy my book at such-and-such place if you so wish. Regardless of what so many people say about self-publishing, I am glad to have done it. I get a book that I made all by myself, all by hand, and it looks just as good as every other book you'd ever find in the bookstore. It's just a wonderful feeling.

Many writers of past times made their own books. ONe of my favorite writers is Gene Stratton Porter. A wonderful writer whose books delighted two or three generations of readers. She made her own books because publishers in those days would not take a chance on publishing female writers. Later, after her books sold like hotcakes, she changed her name to a male pseudonym and the rest is history.

My belief is that however a writer can get a book in print is OK. Not all of us can be Stephen King. Good for you, Daniel.

Actually, there was an article in USA Weekly (I get these kinds of articles all the time from relatives) which spoke about self-publishing, and had a few success stories...the authors at the center of those stories answered questions about their experience...it was an interesting article.

Myself, I've been contemplating self-publishing for my next novel...but then, I have to finish it first... :-)
