| | Wednesday, May 15, 2002 - 10:27 am Has anyone had any experience with AMERICAN BOOK PUBLISHING? They charge a refundable deposit evidently. Their web site, american-book.com, looks good, but I would like hear an objective view if anyone has one. Went to a web site once that offered critique on various publishers but can't find it now. Any ideas? Thanks for any help in this area.

| | Wednesday, May 15, 2002 - 10:44 am Barb, you may be thinking of Preditors and Editors. Their site is located here: http://anotherealm.com/prededitors/ Yes, they recommend avoiding American Book publishing because of the up-front fee.

| | Wednesday, May 15, 2002 - 06:43 pm Dear Kevin and Nancy, Thank you so much for your prompt replies. Seems one has to have eyes in that back of their head to wade through the morass of publishing. Have been reading the boards for a while and am certain I have been saved at least one heart ache from information posted. Appreciate the resource. Barbara

| | Sunday, May 26, 2002 - 09:02 am Barbara, Never heard of them. You might check out editors/preditors on the net. They have info on just about everybody. I think you can find them at www.sfwa.com. Not sure about that but others here may know where to find that list. smiles and blessings, Kitty (aka Nancy Marie)
