Have any of you authors published with '1stBooks' - or heard anything negative or positive about them? Or have any publisher recommedations? I'd sure appreciate knowing. Thanks. William (Bill) R. Park, Sr. wrpark@sbcglobal.net www.wrparkbooks.com |

I have a friend who had his first one through there, but he has decided to not return to them for any after that one. I don't know what the details are...but if I find out I'll let you know. |

Jan Blankenship had her psychological thriller, "Class Act" published through 1stBooks. I know that their printer is LightningSource, but that's about all I know. Her email is Tinkerthre@aol.com (I think) She is a very nice lady and I'm sure she'd be willing to share her thoughts |

Re: Authorlink Does anyone have any comments about this site as a manuscript clearing house? It purports to have agents and traditional publishers visiting and requesting to see listed works, leading to agent representation and sales... |

From what I've found, Authorlink charges a fee to have your book listed. And they don't guarantee a thing. |

Thanks, Jennifer. I know they do, but it's not extortionate and it makes a lot of sense to have agents and publishers who know what they want come actively seeking the author out, instead of the author sending out queries willy-nilly (what a strange word!). Anyway, that could get expensive and frustrating. The stats look pretty good. There is documented proof of who's been picked up by whom. Bill, check out Metropolis Ink, if you haven't already. |
