from the Charlotte Observer July 13, 2004 Medical helicopter crashes, killing 4 A patrolman finds a woman in the median of I-26 across from a Rest Stop along in South Carolina. It is a desolate strip of interstate. The woman claims she was hit by an 18 wheeler. The patrolman says her injuries are consistent with being pushed or jumping from a moving vehicle. Found in her possession are identification papers from North Carolina, South Carolina and Colorado. The helicoper crashes less than a minute after take-off. http://www.pacwriter.netfirms.com/ |

Stranger than fiction! Perry, I don't know if you saw the movie "The Player" with Tim Robbins, (directed by Robert Altman), but this reminds me of a part of that movie. In the film, one of the studio execs says that they should be able to get rid of all the writers. Another asks where they'll get their stories from. The first exec says something to the effect of "anywhere, say the newspaper". He then picks up the paper and breezes through three or four stories, explaining how each of them could be made into a movie. OK, so you'd need a writer to flesh out the stories, but the ideas are there. Something I always do when I'm stumped for an idea is read a lot of current events, both in print and on the net. Those human interest stories that they bury in the back of the paper are chock full of inspiration. Something always ends up popping out at me. S.F. Falkner |

Yes, I live here in South Carolina. It appears the woman was a transient with no family to call her own. None that would have any contact with her, it seems. |
