I got this in e-mail and had to laugh at all of us who say we're inept at the grammar part of our writing:

I cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdgnieg The phaonmneal pweor of the hmuan mnid Aoccdrnig to a rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer inwaht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoatnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be in the rghit pclae. The rset can be a taotl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe. Amzanig huh? yaeh and I awlyas thought slpeling was ipmorantt.

Okay. So that's just wierd...and the fact that I only actually stumbled over a couple of words is just too freakish for me.

LA,

I thought the same thing!! I may even have read it faster than normal.

All these years I've been griping that my kids aren't learning how to spell and it doesn't even matter!

What about words like these:

berad -- bread, beard, bared

wreid -- wired, weird

teird -- tired, tried

I guess you have to know the whole context of the sentence to know which word it is.

Thanks, Gloria, for coming to the Spelling Bee's rescue. I was beginning to think he was a goner.

If “they” would have only edited my manuscript as well as in Rebecca’s E-mail…
