To introduce myself, my book is "Who Needs a Hero?" (link below), and I'm from Kansas (and to answer the next question...Toto was run over, and Dorothy ran off with the tin man)

Hello Trudy,

I spend the summers in the South Pole feeding penguins. In the winter I travel North to help out around Santa's workshop since it is his busy time of year...

It is good to see a familiar face around here. You were one of the first authors I posted on my website. I hope your book is doing well!!!!

I have my fourth book scheduled for release this fall and am overbooked with projects for the future.

Special Hugs to you my friend!!!!

Hi Trudy, Welcome,

I, also, am a new member, and I appreciate the warm welcome. I live in St. Louis and I have one "published" children's book that is not available because the illustrations were so horrible that I refused to accept it. I'll give everyone one guess as to who published it. Anyway, I've moved on and I'm enjoying the forum.

Hello Trudy and Lois

I'm one of the really old timers here. I've got one book The Unreal McCoy Published through Independence Books (PA) and Turn Left at September will be released through Behler Publications sometime in the near future.

Originally a Detroit boy, my current home is in a rural part of Southeast Michigan where I regularly hit deer with my car or motorcycle.

Welcome Trudy!

Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Mandeville-Louisiana, Plano-Texas...now Colorado.

Love it here.

Wrote and published, The Trophy Abyss, (That's a debatable publication)
Just got invited to send "Surrender" to a publisher.
Another publisher wants the two first prequels. (Finding the Love Within and Awakening the Spirit).
I have several more looking for a publishing house too.

Good luck in your career and I wish you great entertainment on this board!

Welcome Trudy and Lois!

I live in the very south of the Netherlands, near Maastricht, wedged between Germany and Belgium at the very edge of the Ardennes, (the only hills in Holland). Cologne and Brussels are closer than Amsterdam.

My science fiction novel “The Barren Grounds” was almost published, but I managed to prevent that in time.
Currently I am re-writing parts of it, and had the first two chapters already edited by David Compton. I hope to finish it soon to start submitting again. I’m also working at a few short stories like “The Rain” for the mindsight anthology and another novel.

"Hey" to Trudy and Lois.
Lurker Olen here. I'll be brief since I seem to be a thread-killer (don't know why).
I'm just outside of Louisville, Ky (Derby-town USA, "The fastest 2 minutes in sports")
I'm halfway thru my first book- "The Miranda Hunters:The Last of Miranda"
So I'm a mere rookie compared to these other fine folks.

I'll go back in my hole now.
"Bye now. Drive careful. Y'all might's well stay on for dinner"
as my Mawmaw used to say.

Hello,

My name is Fred Dungan. I live in Riverside, California, where it rarely rains and the temperature at this time of year tops 100 degrees. This is avocado country and I have three trees. Avocados are an ingredient in premium dog food which helps to promote proper growth and a shiny coat. I'm not sure what effect eating so many avocados is having on me, but as soon as I find out, I'll be sure to let you know.

My first novel, The Gospel According to Condo Don, a fictional eyewitness account of the Second Coming, was published by Net Novels as an ebook in 1997, Domhan Books placed it in print in 1998, and it is currently in its second paperback edition. In 1993, Worldtainment Studios acquired the audio rights and hired Catherine Byers to produce it as a 5 hour 56 minute MP3 audio book. I recently renewed my contract with Domhan. If interested, you are welcome to read excerpts online at http://www.fdungan.com/sent.htm

My second book, Bushwhacked, was intended to be insightful op/ed political analysis. Unfortunately, I signed a contract with PA in 2002, they proceeded to gut and butcher, and the paperback is dead meat. Should you care to read it with all of its parts intact and assembled as intended, go to http://www.fdungan.com/bushwhacked.htm where more than 12,000 people have read it for free.

Vigilantes is my current work-in-progress. It is a post 911 romp through small town America and should be completed before the next snowfall (this gives me plenty of wiggle room). You are welcome to examine the fully illustrated incomplete first draft at http://www.fdungan.com/vigilantes.htm.

Welcome, welcome!

CE here... or, I'm pretty sure that's who I am - I'll have to check after this post posts :-)

Welcome to the forum, I hope that you enjoy it as much as we do!

I, too, live in Colorado, and while I don't consider myself a published author, my first epic fantasy work, Awareness (now titled Hands of the Shadows) was in print for a couple months in early 2001.

Just one more day of work this week, then it's off to the Rocky Mountain Fiction Writers annual Conference! Once again, for any of you that have never been to conference... FIND ONE, GO! They are awesome motivators and a whole lot of fun!

Well... I'm late.

Theresa,

Glad you're here!

I live in Kansas which means I run into Todd from time to time (unless I quickly duck under something before he sees me...) LOL! I am also close enough to Lolly so that we get to see each once in a while.

I had one book (a mystery) published with PA. It is being re-released through Winterwolf. I have a supernatural mystery series that is under contract with Zumaya Press. The first novel will be out next year. And I am in the process of signing a contract on another novel (also a mystery) with another publisher.

I am also a book reviewer for a major Kansas newspaper and write reviews and a column for MyShelf.com.

Hi! I'm a newbie from a very small town in Louisiana. I've written one full length NF book that I self-published (*almost* went the PA route) and distribute myself through various outlets. I've also written one short NF book that's currently being distributed in ebook format by BookLocker.

I'll eventually get around to updating my website and offer both books from there. BTW, is a website review/critique section available?

I don't think we have a web site review/critique section as such. But people have posted their links and asked for imput and gotten it. You might want to try that.
