If you enjoy the writing style of Mary Roach or the late Erma Bombeck, you will enjoy Mary Erickson's "My Life Under Cover--Adventures of a White Collar Crime Investigator".

I could not wait to read Mary Erickson's book "My Life Under Cover" and I was not disappointed. Mary maintains a wonderful dry wit while describing rather weird circumstances, some harrowing, and others outrageously funny. Some of the characters come alive as an odd lot of eccentrics and only Mary can turn an amateurish attorney into someone you'd shake your head and say, "You gotta love him." My Life Under Cover is a book to save when you have nothing to do because it is hard to put aside. I finished it in two days on the road while my son drove through a blizzard from Kentucky to New Hampshire. The book kept my eyes off the frightful road conditions while the humor kept my mind occupied with a truly fun read.

I look forward to future works by Mary Erickson.

Any book that survives a blizzard that ranges from Kentucky to New Hampshire deserves to be read. Under similar circumstances, I think my books would have frozen solid.

Fred I just figured out what it is about you that I adore (platonically speaking). That brain cell that motivates posts like the one above? My hubby has one just like it. I've tried to loosen its grip by thwacking his bald head a few times, but to no avail. About Fred>>> Ya gotta love him, eh?

Okay seriously speaking, you're probably right about books surviving blizzards.... I'm quick to panic in weather like that. While my 25-yr-old son was driving his pickup through Ohio, which was the worst of the mess, he kept telling me to stop watching and keep reading my book because if I didn't stop telling him how to drive, we WOULD end up in a ditch or worse, embedding the truck into the ass-end of a semi. I took Jon's advice and Mary's book kept me from irritating the heck out of him; we didn't end up skidding off the road.
