Hi all just got home from a four-hour appointment with my hubby's attorney (we're suing his ex-partners after they tried to steal his invention, and then broke into his office and stole everything else including the trash!), anyway found this on my e-mail, and had to share it. (C.E. I hope this is the right place to post this. Organization, as you can tell is not my strong suit!)

(About the Rose Award)

At the end of each year our reviewers will present the ROSE AWARDS to the authors and books we feel are the best book in each category. The author will be awarded a certificate suitable for framing and be recognized on our website. The ROSE AWARD Nominees are books that are truly special, one of a kind, memorable for a lifetime books. These books have a degree of uniqueness which sets them above other books you've read. It may be memorable characters, it may be a romance for the ages, it may be a book which blazes new trails in the genre.

Inspirational Suspense

When is blind faith foolish? When should a woman stop believing and start acting? Paige Brookhart must answer those questions as her spirit is broken, the result of abuse at the hand of her husband for an interminable period. Shame, pain, bewilderment, and guilt fill Paige as difficult decisions approach. With the help of a kindly neighbor, Paige and her children flee following Justin Brookhart's latest rampage. Wishing on a shooting star to never be beaten again, Paige turns towards a new life but car trouble puts her directly into the path of Colorado rancher, Lance Parrish.

Lance takes one look at the battered face of Paige and offers to help. Out of money and options, Paige is not comfortable with Lance's offer to work as his housekeeper, but a woman's shelter will provide the sanctuary needed. However, Justin isn't willing to let his family go that easily.

Even if you do not like inspirational fiction, I highly recommend you read WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR. A victim of spousal abuse myself, I generally steer away from books focused on this subject (it still brings back nightmares sometimes), but WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR touched me in a way no other book has before. I admired Paige, and her faith, her strength of character, and her ability to change her future.

WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR is unlike any other ...the plot is riveting. Tense moments stretch into what seems like hours as you wait to reach the pinnacle, only to find the journey continues. The blossoming love between Paige and Lance is filled with peace and beauty, all the while the darkness of Justin clouds the horizon bringing fear and hatred as readers learn that faith and trust can be restored.

Too cool or what! I'd be jumping up and down right now, but I am just too tired. In fact, all the way home from the attorney's all I was thinking about was how marketing a book is just too hard, and how desperately I want to quit. Give up, never write another word, etc. Hmm...maybe it's too soon to call it quits.

Kitty:

How wonderful. You must be on Cloud Nine!

Congratulations. I'd write more, but I have three deadlines knocking at my door at the moment.

I'm so proud of you!

Thanks all. Have to admit to being too tired to get really excited, but am feeling a little stunned, never, ever believed the book would get nominated for anything.

Imagined it, hoped for it, but never really considered it within the realm of possibility.
