Today, I was leaving home and on the spur of the moment, stuck a copy of the North Jax Monthly paper with the article they just did on me in my purse. My mom and I were in the mall and she insisted I take it in to B. Daltons and just show it to them and ask them to think about ordering some.
}
I took it in and before I was even finished saying "This is me and I was wondering if you would think about stocking a few," the lady at the counter had ordered a few copies of each to put on the shelves and told me to contact them if I'd like to do a signing.

Can you believe it???? That was the most real this whole "published author" endeavor has ever felt.

So, after four years and three books, I finally have my first booksigning on Saturday, have other real prospects for signings, have my books on the shelves of several stores at least in this area and hopefully in others and am actually feeling like it's real.

I'm so excited. This is the first birthday in several years I haven't spent in tears (not because of my age).

A "Good News" story! We need more of those. There is an plethora of "boo-hoo, ain't it awful". There is a good side to all this writing stuff.
I really hope you kick some serious butt with your book, Gloria.
You're starting downhill now.
