I hope no one minds, this story has no purpose except to let me air my excitement. So, just overlook it if you don't feel it's appropriately professional or whatever. 
On Tuesday night, I had a PTA meeting with the rest of the board. The president had bought and read my book a few weeks ago. She was telling everyone how great it was and that they wouldn't be able to put it down. One of the other ladies, the treasurer, bought one of the copies I had in my car. She said that her husband reads and she couldn't find any good books so she just always reads magazines.
Anyway, the president just called a little while ago and said that the treasurer had called her yesterday and said she was already finished with it. She admitted she thought the pres. was just raving about it because I was there. However, she found she couldn't put it down until she was finished.
So, I am donating a couple of copies to be given away as door prizes at the Literacy Night at school tonight. It just amazes me that so many people who admit they don't even like reading, enjoy the book. Maybe I'm doing my part to promote literacy and reading as an enjoyable experience.
As I said, this has nothing to do with anything. And it may come across as boastful, which isn't the way I intended it. I just get so HAPPY when someone enjoys my book!

Gloria and All,
I get the same reaction from people who have read my book and boy does it make you feel good. I totally understand what you feel and why you wanted to share it with us. It is such a wonderful thing when someone reads what you put on paper and feels the same emotions and senses that you had and the reasons for writing your story. When someone tells me that, I just go "WOW".......

Gloria, good for you and your story made me smile, because I KNOW exactly how you feel. It's awesome isn't it, and I for one, never get tired of hearing someone tell me they liked my book and couldn't put it down.

This story has no purpose? I think it screams of purpose!! This is why we write, not for fame, money or glory..but for the simple act of sharing our thoughts, ideas and stories.
