My current WIP includes a character getting a job offer from a major national sports magazine. The job is a position I made up that involves traveling with and covering a major league baseball team. I originally used Sports Illustrated, but I'm wondering if I should change it to a fictional magazine because of the made-up position. There's nothing negative suggested about the magazine, but I'd just like to hear some opinions about it. To avoid legalities you may want to change it. SI may have to sign off on it if you don't, just to keep them happy. Why bother with that faldoral? Just make up your own magazine name. How about- The National Sports Observer? Take it. Enjoy. As the author, you ARE the goddess of that written universe. Fling a lightning bolt. Use your power. Create it any way that suits you. Just my opinion. But I could be fulla crap. I often am, you know. Later, Olen A |
