I watched a really great movie with all the wonderful classic stuff that everyone hopes for in a reach for the stars, hope for the win movie, good guy always gets the brass ring sort of writing, last night. I was so thoroughly engrossed in the movie that I was sitting in my living room, all alone, cheering on the hero of this story, with loud and frankly, outlandish outbursts, cheers, whoops and laughter from my lips and jolting all around the house and reverberating all over my yard. The movie that I was watching took a man from his tiny little home in New Zealand with a dream and a passion through just a short phase of his wonderful life and made him able to prove to the world just how much a singular dedication can cost a man and can bolster his love for the cause. It is out on video now and I fully recommend it to each one of you..... it is called "The World's Fastest Indian" and stars Anthony Hopkins as the most humble and wonderful of hero's.

I happened to pick it up at the video counter of the supermarket because I love motorcycles and triumph over adversity and in general, the good guy winning and partly because I knew something about the story, having known the name of the person in the movie who was being immortalized forever and the name of the Indian Motorcycle and have followed Bonneville Speed Flats records for most of my life. Dennis, you in particular will love this movie, as well as anyone who has a fondness for the odds being beat and the triumph of sheer hard work and dedication to a singular cause.

Give yourself a break from the mundane and pick this movie up, you won't regret it..... again, "The World's Fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins. No violence, very mild language, no tears of pain inflicted upon your psyche, just overbounding joy, good conquer all and a beautiful story of singular love and purity of heart.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Bert Munro back in the sixties. Quite a guy.

definitely from the movie portrayal of him, he must have been a truly wonderful person. It showed through and into Hopkins performance, just how humble and dedicated he was and how much he loved the workings that made him great.
