Yes, it looks like a part of the new Google setup. There are pages missing (for example pages 70 - 71) and it is obviously of little value for reference purposes. Google stock is currently selling at 675.82, far more than their financial statistics justify. Evidently, nobody learned anything from the dotcom bust back in 2002. Google has their tentacles in everything from driving directions to translations. Most of what they do is pretty good and a few things are outstanding, but they are buying out other companies (youtube, for example) at a frightening rate and it is said that their reach far exceeds their grasp. The worst thing about the new Google is what they have done to their search engine. It used to give you what you asked for. Now, what mostly comes up is advertisements for products that have little or nothing to do with what you are searching for. Business interests have as of late been given precedence over reference value. Nowadays, when I use Google for research purposes, I usually skip the initial advertising pages so as to get to the meat of the matter. http://www.fdungan.com/freedom.htm |
