Gloria Marlow | Monday, May 06, 2002 - 07:19 pm Well, I did get a very small paragraph about my book in the Florida Times Union. It announced that Jacksonville author, ME, had her first novel, Flowers.., published and a short statement on what it was about. Luckily my friend's mom read the paper yesterday (I was out of town) and she brought the piece to school today. I would have hated to miss it. It wasn't much, but it was one of the neatest things I've ever had happen to me. Maybe someone who knew me in school or something will see it and decide to buy the darn thing. Or at least be impressed, since I disappointed everyone so badly by passing up scholarships and college and all that good stuff to get married the day after high school graduation and become a housewife. Anyway....just wanted to share that little highlight. Gloria |

Nancy Marie | Tuesday, May 07, 2002 - 05:43 am Congrats, Gloria. That is cool! I know the thing about disappointing others, also. Try being an unwed, pregnant 15 year-old. you know you've disappointed people at that point. Especially way back when, when good girls didn't do "things" like that. smiles and blessings, kitty |
