Hi all,
I just wanted to take a second to stop by and say "hello." I've been out of the loop lately. We've had a death in the family and my wife and I have been out of town. When we returned there was so much other work I really didn't have time to check-in here.
I received a nice e-mail from CE. For those of you asking about me, I'm still finishing my second book -- that's the good news. The bad news is I've been finishing it since last November. I think the PA battles we were involved in a few months ago kinda took their toll on my writing -- not to mention the fact that summer is a hard time to write. Something about sitting by the computer on a nice, bright sunny day doesn't sit too well with me. On the other hand, when it is cold and wet outside and I can sit with a hot cup of coffee I seem to write better. Anyway, I'm going to set a deadline of the end of September to have the first draft finished and the end of November to have the final draft ready. I trust you people will hold my feet to the fire on this.
This week college started here and I'm teaching a couple of new classes at the local community college. That will keep me busy a few mornings and an evening each week. I'm also joing a bible study group at my church that meets every Thursday night. I'm actually trying to load up my fall schedule because I think my time management is better when I have more things to do. Thus I'll schedule some writing time for me.
I'm assuming that by now the Writers Island site is down. Has anyone heard about the status of Ward's book? That site seemed to vanish overnight and I am wondering if it was due to a compromise with PA or the bad mouthing Ward was starting to get. If anyone knows, I'd like an update.
Anyway, that's it for now. I hope I've figured out how to use this board. If not I'm sure I'll get some corrective help. I'll put my e-mail here in case anyone wants to contact me privately.

Well Hello Mike! Good to hear from you!
As far as Ward's site is concerned... no one seems to know anything, nor has Ward returned e-mails to folks that have written to ask how he is...
Just a quick note - I have a meeting soon.

Hi again Mike.
So how are things going? Are you still hunting for a publisher or agent? I've forgotten how long it takes for things to get done in this process over the last year. I put out 8 queries some time back, and have heard back from 5 of them I think, with no word at all from the others yet.
I'm still thinking of delving headlong back into Awareness and polishing up some more before I actually send out a manuscript (if I get that chance, that is). I've just been working on Hunger, the sequel, and it's pretty much complete, a few finishing touches and I'll have 2 books ready to sell - that will be a change 
Anyhow, good to hear from you, and hope things will go well for you this fall.
