Nancy Mehl | Friday, May 24, 2002 - 01:45 pm Just a note: When I find a writer I like, I read everything he/she puts out. I am adding a new one to my list. I just started SOCK MONKEY BLUES by John Robinson. Absolutely smashing!!! I've laughed out loud so many times my son thinks I've lost my mind! Wonderful writing with a superb comic flavor. John - you're incredible - and I'm only to Chapter Two!!!! Dennis, you gotta read this! Love it! Nancy |
laurelj | Friday, May 24, 2002 - 02:24 pm Now I've heard from two sources what I am in for. Sock Monkey Blues is next in my pile of books to read for review. So as I read The Unreal McCoy, my avid reader friend is reading JLR's book. Last night she was laughing so loud and long she started choking. Ron and I went to check on her and she was holding SMB out, pointing at it, unable to get a breath. She says the same thing - that JLR's book is great. So far she has raved about every PA book she's read. And THIS lady USED to read ONLY Grisham and a couple other best selling authors. She was a reading snob. Well kids...she is now devouring every PA authored book I have for review and loving every one. I'm having to fight with her to keep her from loaning out the books I have not yet reviewed. That is the highest form of compliment - the desire to share a well written book. LaurelJ |

John Laurence Robinson | Saturday, May 25, 2002 - 09:21 pm Well, thanks guys!! (blush blush) I dunno what ta say....you guys really are very kind. I'm working on the sequel to SOCK now, and I hope it's as good. By the way, Laurel, I got your e-mail about Picklebutt...nope, purely a fictional town, based closely on a lot of them I've frequented! thanks again for the kind words. John |
