Death Grip
Legacy of Terror

429 pages paperback 7.99 + $2 s & h US and $7 intl

Steven Shrewsbury, one of the authors whose story is included in this
anthology, asked for a review of Death Grip. Horror has been a genre I
avoided, until reading Shrewsbury's previously published work and now this
anthology by 19 authors. I must confess that the horror genre is starting
go grow on me. And I was especially pleased to find another adventure
featuring Shrewsbury's Dr. Elijah Blackthorn character included.

As stated in the foreword, Death Grip explores some of the unshakeable
ancient terrors that have plagued humanity from the beginning. Edited by
Walt Hicks, who also contributes, the individual stories are memorable and
often hair raising.

Like any effective horror story, things are not always what they seem once
the reader digs beneath the surface. There are many lessons to be learned
in Death Grip. Ancient texts, for example, are often best left
untranslated. Some punishments are far worse than death and paybacks can be
real hell. This anthology makes it crystal clear that it's often difficult
to tell the kill from the cure, it isn't wise to mess with Mother Nature,
and truly happy endings are few and far between.

Each of the 19 authors brings a distinctive voice and style to the mix. Any
fan of the horror genre should be wild about Death Grip. Take note of these
names because I suspect we have not heard the last of any of them:
Michael Arruda; Charlee Jacob; Lavie Tidhar; Darren Franz; d.g.k. goldberg;
Edward M. Rosick; Joseph A. Ezzo; H. Turnip Smith; Christopher Fulbright;
Patricia Russo; Jason Brannon; Shaun Jeffrey; Horns; Guy F. Thompson; J.F.
Juzwik; John C. Hay; Steven L. Shrewsbury; Tara Kolden; and Walt Hicks.
Good job, authors!

Thank you Todd and Lisa.
Yeah, Laurel (and others) have been at me to write a full novel of Elijah Blackthorn. One is underway, but it is coming along slower than I would like. I have so many committments and folks writign for thigns, that I keep gettign sidetracked.

That isn't all of it...I follow where the muse seems to lead. Sometimes, it is barbarian stuff, other times, weird horror, other times Dack Shannon.

Never enough hours in the day, but thanks for reading.

Hey Laurel, you are on the B&N site for DEATHGRIP...sorta guilty by association...:-) I guess they posted that...I had nada to do with it (aside from sending to Walt), but I am sure Walt Hicks was honored to have it on there.

Any book available on B and N and amazon gets my review posted there. I do that right away. Sometimes the reviews don't show up so I'm happy it did in your case.
