Steven,
I am happy for you that you are quite satisfied with the product and binding of the books. May they sell millions. It is good to know that there are some publishers that put out good product and take pride in the workmanship.

All things aside,

It is Truth that we want. Truth in the publishing industry and Truth in ourselves.

Truth in our lives is what we really want.

We want what's true, yet it's nice to delve into fantasy once in a while.

And who says that fantasy is not true?

Truth is relative to whatever you believe to be a lie.

Check out the Truth at http://www.drbennett.2ya.com

Bulletproof Soul was very good. Like everything Steven writes, the plots are creative and imaginative and his lead characters well developed and appealing.
I meant what I said in the review. I prefer genres other than the ones Stven chooses to write, but he is winning me over one amazing character at a time.

Primo mag DARK REALMS # 14 reviews my new paperback BULLETPROOF SOUL

BULLET PROOF SOUL

by Steven L. Shrewsbury

Black Death Books ($20.00) Softcover

Bullet Proof Soul is Shrewsbury's latest

collection of stories about Dack Shannon,

secret agent for a covert intelligence

agency known as Majestic Services. Dack

is a total bad-ass. This six-foot-five albino,

clad in a long, black, bullet-proof trench

coat, is Majestic's lean, mean killing

machine-with a soul. He has absolutely

no amount of pity for terrorists, drug

runners, child molesters, and the other

dregs of society, and dispatches them with

cold, calculated ferocity.

Dack is not alone in his righteous

quest for vengeance; his comrades-inarms

include his former partner, Thor (a

good ole' boy type, but cunning and

ruthless to the extreme), and Brittany

(a beautiful, feisty red-head who gathers

intelligence for Dack while working

undercover as a stripper), among other

mysterious figures from his past. Dack's

adversary, Marty Milner, is a rouge agent

from Majestic's Remote Viewing division

and is hell-bent on wrecking havoc.

Bullet Proof Soul is action-packed

from start to finish with 20 tales of dark

intrigue, horror, sci-fi, and suspense.

Every story in this book is compelling

and well-crafted. Steven Shrewsbury's

delightfully vicious character, Dack

Shannon, is one of the coolest vigilantes

since the Crow. Highly recommended.

Ok, that is alot of stuff to answer.
STRONGER THAN DEATH is the next full Dack Novel. It is supposed to be out late this year from BALCK DEATH BOOKS.

Ok, I wish Depths of Savagery were a paperback as well. there have been a great many positive reviews of it. A pal of mine may help me produce a pb version from LULU with extras added in. I will let you know if that becomes available.

Lots of stuff in the pipeline. Writing a couple of new novels, lots of tales, the usual.

Trying to find the correct pub for a few fant epics.

Justice from a .45 Magnum

Reviewer: Author Phil Henry from Coleraine, Northern Ireland

Dack Shannon, for those of you who don't know, is a six-foot-five
albino agent for a shadow agency of the government called Majestic Services.
This anthology is populated with so many larger-than-life characters and
conspiracies that you are hooked from the outset. Dack's justice is swift,
harsh and sometimes brutal, but you can't help feeling that it is still
just. His religious upbringing has given him a clear sense of what is right
and wrong and Majestic Services have given him a gun...a lethal combination.

The book consists of twenty tales from this dark avenger and there are
some brilliant twists and explanations to the unexplained. Among my
favourites are a story called Batch of Lies, which has a brilliantly
appropriate ending, and Damnation Angels, which is such a bizarre, inventive
and clever story that it is just crying out to be made into a movie.
Hollywood: take note.

The twenty stories become far more than the some of their parts. With
each story you gain a little more insight into Dack and his colleagues. By
the end you have built up a clear picture of why his vengeance is delivered
without remorse. Dack protects the innocent, by any and all means at his
disposal and in this age of slippery lawyers getting criminals off with a
smack on the wrist, he's a welcome dose of justice.

Personally, I thought Hellraisers was the best story in the book...second to that was the final tale in the book, Resurrection...

At least in my opinion...

I appreciate the comments. Hellraisers was quite personal for me on a number of levels, as was Resurrection. At times when one has a passion to explode out, it shows in the writing. Whereas I labored on a work like Damnation Angels or Thunder underground, tales like Resurrection and Agent Aqua just popped out.

THE HORROR FICTION REVIEW
BULLETPROOF SOUL: A DACK SHANNON ANTHOLOGY

by Steven L. Shrewsbury (Black Death Books) ISBN 0-9747680-0-6

Review by Steve Vernon

The first sound a reader hears as they open this collection is the
business-like cracking of a young man's neck.

Steven Shrewsbury means business.

I've been enjoying this collection. There doesn't seem to be a lot of
continuity, so it's the sort of anthology you can read at your leisure;
picking a story at random, or working your way methodically through the
book. I don't always finish anthologies. I prefer novels. Still, Dack
Shannon kind of wormed his way into my heart, like a well sharpened
stiletto.

This is a solid trade paperback collection, with twenty no-nonsense
shoot-em-ups. Dack Shannon mixes it up with spies, drug dealers, zombies and
mad scientists. A lot of folks have compared Shrewsbury to Robert E. Howard.
I think of him more as an Edward S. Aarons. Dack strikes me, (and everyone
within fist-swinging distance), as a cross between The Shadow and Sam
Durell. The dialogue's a little stiff in spots, and I'd like to know a bit
more about Mr. Shannon, but this was a darned enjoyable read. Take it to the
beach and wear your darkest sunglasses and tackiest Bermuda shorts. Potato
salad and fried chicken, no caviar allowed.
