Amazon can be very confusing to figure out. I know they have been revamping the site for quite some time. But, I'm confused about something and thought I would throw it out to see if anyone has an opinion, or an answer. When I used to check out the PA bestselling list, there were well over 6,000 books. Now if I put in publishamerica as one word, only 2227 books come up. If I put in publish america with a space in the middle, only 1543 come up. America house, 159 erica house 27 My math is not great, but I know that doesn't add up to 6 or 7 thousand. Where the heck are the rest of the books listed? I can't think of anything else to try. I even tried Independence Books, but there were zero there. Anybody? Kathy |

Where are you getting the original 6000+ number? Is this number coming from Amazon, as well? |

Tony, Yes, a few weeks ago, if I put in publishamerica as the publisher and clicked on bestselling, over 6,000 titles came up. Now they are scattered under different publishing names I think. But I cannot figure out where the rest are. I wondered if anybody knew other names that might be used. I know it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, I am just curious. Kathy |

I'll never understand Amazon's rankings. I don't think anyone does. Not even them. Mary Gibbs' book is ranked #6, and it's completely out of print according to them. Plus the top ten has books ranked in the millions with books ranked in the top 50,000 sandwiched between them. |

I thought I'd post this link regarding Amazon's sales numbers. If you have not already seen it, this should make for an interesting read. http://www.booksandtales.com/pod/salesrank.htm |

More Amazon Rankings info: If your book is jumping between 2,000 and 9,000, you are selling 2-3 books per day. Go to http://www.algora.com/FAQ's/AmazonRanking.htm for their breakdown. |
